U.S. Has Sent Ukraine More Money in One Day, Than Biden Has Sent to Maui in Total

President Joe Biden wants to send $95 million to Maui after the Hawaiian island experienced the deadliest fire in the country’s history in more than a century. However, Ukraine’s departing defense minister claims his country is spending about $100 million a day on its conflict with Russia.

“A day of war costs us 100 million dollars,” Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov said in an interview with state media. “The army today is the largest consumer of funds. But funds are also needed for the maintenance of the country as a whole: for infrastructure, for reconstruction, for supporting the socially vulnerable.”

According to a recent Breitbart News story, Biden just said that he is sending $95 million to Maui, which is less than a tenth of one percent of the $135 billion he wants to spend on Ukraine.

The United States is giving Ukraine the majority of the money it needs to continue its conflict with Russia, which got underway in February 2022 when Russian soldiers invaded.

According to the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), the United States has already pledged $113 billion to Ukraine, or $223 million a day.

US military assistance to Ukraine has been averaging $86 million per day.

Before the year is over, the Biden administration is requesting an additional $24 billion from Congress, bringing total expenditure to $135 billion.

At a NATO conference in Vilnius in July, Biden boasted that the United States was spending more than all other countries put together.

Biden told Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, “I think we’ve given more than any other nation combined in terms of assistance and cost and the American people are supportive. They’re supportive, because they know it’s about you, it’s about more than you, it’s about innocent people around the world, and the absolute brutality with which Putin is acting and the Russians are moving on, it’s like something out of the 14th Century, the way they’re acting.”

Zelensky recently replaced Reznikov as part of an effort to crack down on graft and war profiteering.

As Breitbart News’ Kurt Zindulka reported:

The Defence Ministry has been rocked by a series of corruption scandals since the start of the year, including allegations of overpaying for military food items such as eggs, and winter jackets. Last month, all the heads of regional recruitment offices throughout Ukraine were sacked over allegations of bribery of officials from men seeking to avoid being sent into battle against the Russians.

A Wall Street Journal poll revealed that 52% of voters disapprove of Biden’s handling of Ukraine, an increase from 46% in March. The majority of voters believe too much is being done to help Ukraine, with 38% stating it is too much, 31% stating it is the right amount, and 22% stating not enough. The majority of Republican primary voters also believe too much is being done, with 17% stating it is the right amount, and 14% stating not enough.
