Trump not allowed to leak information related to case
The same judge involved in authorization of the raid on former President Donald Trump’s estate Mar-a-Lago has placed an order prohibiting the former president from disclosing information to the press.
U.S. Magistrate Judge Bruce Reinhart has signed off on a request made by prosecutor Jack Smith to prohibit former President Donald Trump and co-defendant Walt Nauta from disclosing information handed to their defense pertainng to the criminal case against Trump and Nauta. “The Discovery Materials, along with any information derived therefrom, shall not be disclosed to the public or the news media, or disseminated on any news or social media platform, without prior notice to and consent of the United States or approval of the Court”, according to CNN
It’s worth noting this comes months after numerous leaks from the Department of Justice to the press. CNN had recordings of Trump used in the indictment before charges were even made public against the former President, which were later on sent as a full transcript.
Trump currently faces 37 counts in indictment which alleges he illegally retained national defense information and concealed them from the Justice Department, Trump has plead not guilty, and maintains his innocence.
