Mel Gibson revealed that he is directing a sequel to “Passion of the Christ.” The movie title will be ‘The Passion of the Christ: Resurrection.’ Gibson will have Jim Caviezel play Jesus as in the first addition. Jim and Mel have been dedicating their recent time to a newly released chart-topping movie, “Sound of Freedom.” This movie illustrates the horrors of human trafficking that are prevalent today.
In the clip we provide, the interviewer asks Gibson, “So the word on the street is you are going to make “Passion of the Christ 2, is that really happening.”
Mel responds, “Of course, it’s not called ‘Passion 2’ rather “The Resurrection.'” After saying this the audience burst out in cheers.
Gibson further responds saying, “Of course that is a big subject and it needs to be looked at, because we don’t want to just do a simple rendering of it. We can all read what happened.”
IMDb:
“A sequel to The Passion of the Christ (2004) focuses on the events that occurred three days between the crucifixion and resurrection when Jesus Christ descended to Abraham’s Bosom to preach and resurrect Old Testament saints.”
