Eric Molitor, one of the individuals implicated in the alleged FBI plot to kidnap Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer, has come forward with explosive claims during a Trump rally held at Van Andel Arena. In a candid interview with Real America’s Voice reporter Ben Bergquam, Molitor alleged that the FBI orchestrated the entire plot and duped people into participating.
During the interview, Molitor asserted that the FBI was responsible for setting up the plot against Governor Whitmer. “The FBI set everything up. They drove people, they paid for everything. They wrote the script,” Molitor claimed. He went further to allege that Governor Whitmer was complicit, stating that she collaborated with the FBI and state police to schedule the timing of the operation.
“Governor Whitmer herself opened her scheduling book and decided with the FBI and state police when to be the best time for the daytime ride, the nighttime ride. Then they duped people into it. We even have proof of them telling people, ‘Get as many people in the trucks as possible, and don’t tell them what you’re doing until they’re already on the road.’ It was 100% set up. Governor Whitmer, if they can do it to nobody like me, they will come after everybody else,” Molitor added.
Molitor detailed his experience, stating that he was misled about the nature of the operation. He explained that he believed he was participating in a civil defense activity against Antifa and BLM, rather than a plot to kidnap the governor. Molitor described a chilling realization when he discovered the operation involved Whitmer’s residence. “When we got up there, and I’m already in a truck with people 100 miles away from my house, then they started talking about Whitmer’s Cottage, and right there, dude, my heart sunk. I didn’t know if I was going to make out of that situation alive.”
Following the incident, Molitor faced significant legal consequences. He was arrested during a family gathering, with law enforcement reportedly pointing guns at his children. Molitor now faces charges of material support for terrorism and felony firearms. He expressed frustration with Whitmer’s continued portrayal of the plot as a legitimate threat. “I quit fighting it. This is one of those things. She’s still out there pushing this as if it was a legitimate thing that there was a kidnap plot against her that she set up with the FBI,” Molitor said.
The alleged plot to kidnap Governor Whitmer was widely publicized in October 2020, with the FBI claiming to have thwarted a right-wing militia’s attempt to kidnap and kill the governor. The case, which involved at least 12 FBI informants, has faced scrutiny and controversy. Michael Hills, an attorney for one of the defendants, revealed text messages showing an FBI agent instructing an informant to lie and frame an innocent man.
Further allegations emerged, including claims of an FBI agent having a personal relationship with a target and engaging in questionable conduct. The case resulted in nine convictions or guilty pleas out of 14 initially accused, with five men ultimately acquitted.
In his interview, Molitor urged citizens to become actively involved in holding the system accountable. “If they can do it to nobody like me, they will come after everybody else,” he warned, emphasizing the need for vigilance and community engagement.
