Elliott Abrams, a neoconservative obsessed with regime change who has previously been convicted of lying to Congress, has been hired by Joe Biden to serve as his new head of international propaganda.
Abrams, 75, previously served in the administrations of senators who supported the war in Iraq and Afghanistan, including Henry “Scoop” Jackson and Daniel Patrick Moynihan. Later, he switched sides and served in the Reagan, Bush, and even the Trump administrations.
Joe Biden has given Abrams a task at this time. in particular, at the ACPD (Advisory Commission on Public Diplomacy) of the United States. The Commission is tasked with aid ing in propaganda campaigns abroad by “appraising U.S. Government activities intended to understand, inform, and influence foreign publics,” according to the State Department.
Abrams became involved in the Iran-Contra scandal while serving in the Reagan administration. Abrams was initially denied permission by President Trump to serve as the deputy secretary of state in 2017, but fellow hawk Mike Pompeo eventually brought him on board as a special envoy with responsibility for Venezuela.
Abrams gave Trump this chance in exchange for him publicly trashing him. One of President Bush’s most scathing architects of the futile and expensive war in Iraq was Abrams.
