Anti-Free Speech Group Subpoenaed by Jim Jordan Over Censorship Collusion With Biden Administration

A new subpoena from Republican Rep. Jim Jordan alleges that the Center for Countering Digital Hate (CCDH) conspired with the Biden administration to order the censorship of Americans on Big Tech platforms and demands that they turn over any communications and paperwork that explains which online “content moderation occurred as a result of the government’s influence.”

Due to the shocking censorship confessions found in the Missouri v. Biden case, the House Judiciary Committee chose to inquire into information from the Center for Countering Digital Hate (CCDH), the think tank that attempted to have The Federalist taken down in 2020.

“It is necessary for Congress to gauge the extent to which the federal government or one of
its proxies worked with or relied upon CCDH to censor speech,” Chairman Jordan wrote in the subpoena’s accompanying letter (below)  to CCDH CEO Imran Ahmed. “The scope of the Committee’s
investigation includes intermediaries who may or may not have had a full understanding of the
government’s efforts and motivations.”

Jordan said that the committee’s intention to “create meaningful legislation” that would stop the federal government from requiring the silence of millions of Americans is the primary motivation behind its study.

Jordan first requested from CCDH on August 3 the disclosure of records, correspondence, and grant paperwork that might assist the committee’s probe of the Biden regime’s campaign of speech repression.

CCDH issued a report in 2021 claiming that 12 users on Big Tech sites are responsible for spreading “harmful and dangerous” vaccine-hesitant information. Internal Facebook documents obtained by the Judiciary Committee found that the Biden administration used this report as an excuse in its “unconstitutional pressure campaign against social media platforms to censor” the dissenting “disinformation dozen” for rejecting the regime’s COVID-19 propaganda campaign. A dozen state attorneys general also begged Silicon Valley giants to ban those named in the CCDH report.

Then-White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki admitted that the Biden administration was already colluding with corrupt Big Tech oligarchs to boost U.S. Surgeon General Dr. Vivek Murthy’s urgings for Facebook and Twitter to crack down on “misinformation ‘super-spreaders.’” Around the same time, President Joe Biden claimed that a lack of censorship by these social media sites was “killing people.”

Even though it has publicly admitted to what the committee calls “directly engaging with the Executive Branch and social media companies,” CCDH explicitly refused to hand over any information detailing its relationship with censors and the federal government.

“By declining to produce anything of substance in response to the Committee’s request, CCDH is hindering the Committee’s ability to fulfill its constitutional oversight obligations,” Jordan noted.

The Judiciary Committee and Weaponization Subcommittee has given CCDH until the end of September to produce proof of its censorship program or else.
